Manchester United agree €14 million transfer offer

Manchester United have concentrated on sending out players on loan in recent times rather than making signings of their own. The strategy makes sense as the club are expected to appoint a permanent manager next summer and might be looking to rebuild the squad in his vision, with Ralf Rangnick only being the interim manager till the end of the current season. Now though, it looks like they have agreed an offer for a player’s permanent exit as well.

The player in question is Andreas Pereira, who has not been able to nail down a spot in Manchester United’s first-team despite being highly-rated while coming through the youth ranks.

He has made an impression while away on loan with Brazilian side, Flamengo, who appear to be very keen on keeping Pereira on a permanent basis.

As reported by UOL, Flamengo have verbally reached an agreement to sign Pereira from Manchester United in a transfer deal that can reach up to €14 million.

Manchester United have verbally agreed a deal with Flamengo for Pereira

It is safe to say that Pereira has enjoyed a great time away on loan at Flamengo although it has had its up and downs as well. He has also reinvented himself to some extent while with the Brazilian club and has played in a deeper midfield role too.

But despite his impressive performances, it is hard to see him featuring regularly for Manchester United’s first-team anytime soon with the amount of competition there.

Also, he had already spent several loan spells away from Old Trafford but did not find much success. That has changed at Flamengo though.

With Pereira’s current deal running out in the summer of 2023 and him being 26 years of age, it might very well be the right decision on the part of Manchester United to agree a permanent exit for him.
